The story of VitisDefy began in Nashik, often referred to as the Napa Valley of India.
Over the past two decades, Nashik has become a major hub for India’s wine industry. And with wine production comes a significant amount of grape pomace — the skins, seeds and pulp left behind after grapes are pressed.
Much of this material, particularly the grape peels, is discarded.
During a visit to a Nashik winery, we noticed mountains of these discarded grape skins.

It raised a simple question:

What if this so-called waste could actually become something valuable?

That question eventually led to VitisDefy — a bioactive created by extracting valuable compounds from upcycled grape peels.

Why Grape Peels Are So Interesting

Plants are constantly exposed to sunlight, microbes and environmental stress. To protect themselves, they naturally produce compounds such as polyphenols and antioxidants.
Grape skins are particularly rich in these naturally occurring compounds.
